PhotoRobot Warranty Terms

Version 1.1 — PhotoRobot Edition

Issued by uni-Robot s.r.o., Czech Republic

Effective from 23 September 2026. Supersedes Version 1.0.

These Warranty Terms are intended for commercial customers. Where the Customer is a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules apply in addition to, and prevail over, these Warranty Terms to the extent they cannot be limited by contract.

The English version of this document controls. Any other language version is provided for convenience only.

‍

‍

1. Definitions

Equipment means a PhotoRobot-branded machine including its functions, upgrades and accessories. It does not include any software programs, whether pre-installed with the Equipment or installed later. Software is covered separately under the PhotoRobot License Agreement and, for cloud components, the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for PhotoRobot Software.

Customer means the party acquiring the Equipment under the Hardware Contract.

Hardware Contract means the contract under which the Equipment is supplied, including its schedules.

Acceptance Criteria has the meaning given to it in the applicable Hardware Contract, including any provision under which those criteria are deemed satisfied.

Consumable and wear parts means parts subject to depletion or wear in normal use, such as X-rings for the glass plate support, rubber guide rollers and glass plates.

RMA means the Return Material Authorization process described in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for PhotoRobot Hardware.

PWS means Premium Worldwide Support as described in section 8.

uni-Robot s.r.o., as the manufacturer of PhotoRobot, warrants that the Equipment used in its specified operating environment will conform to its officially published specifications. During the warranty period, uni-Robot s.r.o. will repair the Equipment without charge. uni-Robot s.r.o. may require proof of purchase (a copy of the sales receipt or purchase invoice) to confirm the warranty claim.

‍

‍

2. Warranty period

The warranty period covers 12 months and begins on the date on which the Acceptance Criteria set out in the Hardware Contract are satisfied or deemed satisfied.

Where the Hardware Contract does not provide for Acceptance Criteria, the warranty period begins on the date the Equipment is delivered to the Customer.

‍

‍

3. Coverage

If the Equipment does not function as warranted during the warranty period and the problem cannot be resolved by phone, electronically, or by application of software updates, uni-Robot s.r.o., its subcontractor, or a reseller approved by uni-Robot s.r.o. to provide warranty service will, at its discretion, repair the Equipment or replace defective components so that the Equipment functions as warranted.

Territory. These warranties apply in the country to which the Equipment is delivered under the Hardware Contract. Where the Hardware Contract specifies more than one place of delivery, they apply in each such country.

Where the Equipment is moved to another country after delivery, warranty service outside the country of delivery is subject to uni-Robot s.r.o.’s prior written confirmation and may be affected by logistics, customs, export control, safety or service availability limitations.

Installation, commissioning and training. Installation, commissioning and training performed by uni-Robot s.r.o. personnel shall be carried out with due professional care and skill and in accordance with the Supplier’s documented procedures. This obligation is subject to any applicable limitation of liability agreed between the parties and does not expand the remedies available under the applicable contract. Ad-hoc “how-to” guidance and photographic technique consulting provided outside the scope of the agreed installation and training services are not covered by this obligation.

Replacement parts. Any replacement part supplied by uni-Robot s.r.o. is covered by a separate warranty of twelve (12) months, commencing on the date the part is installed by uni-Robot s.r.o. or, where the Customer installs the part, on the date of its delivery. This warranty applies to the replacement part only and does not extend the warranty period applicable to the remainder of the Equipment. Consumable and wear parts supplied as replacements are covered against manufacturing defect only.

Advance replacement. Where a defective part must be repaired and a replacement is available from stock, uni-Robot s.r.o. will ship an advance replacement so that the Customer can continue production. Under warranty this is at no charge, subject to return of the defective part within fifteen (15) business days of delivery of the replacement; otherwise the replacement is invoiced at list price. Advance replacement depends on parts availability and is not a guaranteed lead time.

uni-Robot s.r.o. warranties apply only to Equipment acquired for the Customer’s own use, not for the purpose of resale. uni-Robot s.r.o. does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Equipment, or that uni-Robot s.r.o. will repair all defects. These warranties are the exclusive warranties of uni-Robot s.r.o. and replace all other warranties, including implied warranties or conditions of satisfactory quality, merchantability, non-infringement, and fitness for a particular purpose.

uni-Robot s.r.o. warranties do not apply in cases of misuse, modification, damage not caused by uni-Robot s.r.o., or failure to follow the Equipment manufacturer’s instructions. In such cases, warranties are limited to the duration of the warranty period and after this period no warranties shall apply. Nothing in these Warranty Terms limits any statutory rights of consumers that cannot be limited by contract.

If the Equipment fails during the warranty period, the time spent on repair is added to the warranty period. This period begins on the day the defect is reported to technical support and to the product seller, reseller, agency, representative, importer, or manufacturer, if technical support does not exist.

If during the warranty period the Equipment fails due to a manufacturing or assembly defect, the repair is carried out without any service fee or parts replacement fee. Consumable and wear parts are covered against manufacturing defects only, in accordance with section 5.

‍

‍

4. Customer-supplied equipment

The use of Customer-supplied computers, cameras, lenses, monitors, cabling and related accessories which uni-Robot s.r.o. has reviewed and confirmed in writing as compatible shall not void, limit or otherwise affect the warranty on the Equipment.

For the avoidance of doubt, this warranty does not extend to the Customer-supplied items themselves, which remain subject to their respective manufacturers’ warranties.

Confirmation of compatibility is given in writing, identifies the specific items reviewed, and is issued before procurement wherever the Customer provides the specification in time.

‍

‍

5. Exclusions

The Equipment is under warranty coverage by uni-Robot s.r.o. against any defect that may occur during manufacturing, assembly and/or defective parts. Excessive or improper use of the Equipment is not covered by the warranty (for example scratched glass parts). Accessories, consumables, supplies, and wear and fatigue-prone support components (for example X-rings for the glass plate support) are not covered by the warranty. Warranty on the Equipment is terminated by removing or modifying Equipment or part identification labels.

The obligations of free repair and replacement of the product under warranty cannot be applied in the following cases:

  • the product defect occurs due to use contrary to the conditions specified in the user manual;
  • the product has been opened, used, or previously repaired by unauthorized persons;
  • use of the product by connecting to an unsuitable voltage or with a faulty electrical installation;
  • the serial number of the product has been modified or removed;
  • defect or damage to the product occurs during transport outside the responsibility of uni-Robot s.r.o.;
  • breakage or scratching of the exterior of the product while in the Customer’s possession;
  • the product is damaged as a result of use with accessories or equipment purchased from third parties, other than Customer-supplied equipment confirmed as compatible under section 4, or as a result of unauthorized service;
  • damage caused by natural disasters, such as fire, lightning, flood, earthquake, and similar events.

For services provided by technical support during the warranty period as part of regular maintenance stipulated by the manufacturer or importer, no labour charges will be requested from the Customer.

‍

‍

6. Your responsibilities

The Customer will:

  • inform uni-Robot s.r.o. or the dealer of any changes in the location of the Equipment;
  • maintain the recommended operating environment for the Equipment;
  • before replacing the Equipment or its part, remove all additional elements, parts, modifications, extensions, and expansions that are not covered by this warranty, and ensure that the Equipment is not subject to any legal restrictions that prevent its replacement; where the type of warranty service requires delivery of the defective Equipment or part to uni-Robot s.r.o., send it suitably packaged to the location designated by uni-Robot s.r.o.;
  • obtain authorization from the owner of the Equipment before requesting warranty service, if relevant;
  • provide sufficient and safe access to the facilities and the Equipment to enable the services to be performed (clean, well-lit, and suitable for the purpose), including a suitable workspace allowing disassembly and re-assembly of the Equipment;
  • provide a stable internet connection where remote diagnostics are required;
  • follow the service procedures established by uni-Robot s.r.o., and comply with all operator responsibilities instructions;
  • allow uni-Robot s.r.o., its subcontractor, or the dealer to install mandatory technical changes, such as those related to safety; and
  • remain responsible for reasonable protection of the Equipment and all data contained therein, including backups and configuration, whenever uni-Robot s.r.o. remotely accesses it to help isolate the cause of the problem. If the Customer refuses remote access, uni-Robot s.r.o. may be limited in its ability to resolve the problem.

‍

‍

7. Shipping, insurance and RMA

The return of defective components is handled under clause 7 of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for PhotoRobot Hardware.

Each party shall insure the shipment for the leg of transport for which it bears the shipping cost under that clause, for not less than the replacement value of the component. Risk of loss of or damage to a component in transit rests with the party responsible for insuring that leg.

‍

‍

8. Premium Worldwide Support (PWS)

PWS is PhotoRobot’s operational-continuity program for the production imaging workflow. It is defined, together with its binding terms, in the PhotoRobot PWS Program document.

Factory PWS. New Equipment is delivered with Factory PWS included in the Equipment price, valid for the first year from the Installation Date as defined in the PWS Program. A higher service level during the first year can be arranged for a surcharge.

Renewal. From year two onwards PWS is renewable. Uninterrupted renewal preserves the original preferential terms; the PWS Program sets out the grace period and the consequences of a lapse.

Service levels. The objective for the first Qualified Technical Response is set by the service level contracted in the individual PWS offer. Severity of an individual ticket governs the order and intensity of handling within that contracted level and is a separate matter.

Configurable elements. Several parameters are set in the individual PWS offer rather than by these Warranty Terms, including the service level, whether equipment-related technician travel is included, whether parts shipping is included, and the availability of loaner units.

Relationship to these Warranty Terms. These Warranty Terms govern defects in the Equipment. The PWS Program governs support, response objectives and operational continuity. Where the same subject is addressed by both, the order of precedence set out in the PWS Program applies to support and response matters.
