Unwrap
Also known as unwrap tool, label unwrapping. Category: Software
Unwrapping turns the curved surface of a cylindrical product, such as a bottle or can, into one flat image of the whole label. In PhotoRobot Controls the Unwrap tool works with OCR to read text that wraps around the product.
How PhotoRobot uses it
PhotoRobot uses Unwrap together with OCR to extract weights, ingredient lists, nutritional information and other on-package data, which is attached to the images as metadata in parallel with GS1 image production.
